It's definitely a view of the brain/mind from a reductionist perspective.  It is becoming increasingly clear that the total is much greater than the sum of the parts.

An interesting perspective here is what happens to the mind when the brain is sick.  In any case there's a lot of really good questions.

One idea for an experiment that emerges from this video involves subjecting some patients to a meditation routine consisting of various mindfulness exercises then watching for the effects, if any.  Perhaps this has already been done (likely many times).  It sure would be interesting to hear some of those stories.

In my view, this video has some interesting elements, but it only creates mental confusion and misunderstanding with respect to the nature of human consciousness.  Everything this individual suggests as regards to the nature of consciousness is due to his mental confusion and his lack of true  elf consciousness.  Like the whole of modern science and psychology, he 'assumes' that consciousness is being produced 'in the head' by the material brain.  From the perspective of the Secret Doctrine, consciousness and the I experience emerges from within without through a higher dimensional metaphysics of the human heart:  A Stanza suggests, THE SONS EXPAND AND CONTRACT THROUGH THEIR OWN SELVES AND HEARTS.

This video is in total opposition to the teachings of theosophy in the imaginary ideas explained.

But even ignorance is better than Head-learning with no Soul-wisdom to illuminate and guide it. The seeds of Wisdom cannot sprout and grow in airless space.  To live and reap experience the mind needs breadth and depth and points to draw it towards the Diamond Soul. ...  For mind is like a mirror; it gathers dust while it reflects.  It needs the gentle breezes of Soul-Wisdom to brush away the dust of our illusions.  Seek  O Beginner, to blend thy Mind and Soul. (pp. 25-26)

The “Doctrine of the Eye” is for the crowd, the “Doctrine of the Heart,” for the elect. ,,, “Great Sifter” is the name of the “Heart Doctrine,” O disciple.   … The wheel of the good LAW moves slowly on. … The hand of Karma guides the wheel; the revolutions mark the beatings of the Karmic heart.  (p. 27)
