He discarded after many years of fasting. And yes, its inconclusive, mainly bacause the case crosses the borders of what science know...

I guess the evidence is inconclusive. I don't personally think that medicine can know what happens in deep meditation. On the other hand - Buddha himself never did this - and ultimately discarded fasting this deep as a meditative method.
