I am sure that a number of you have notice two things around here, and both involve our banner.
First is the disappearance of our "Old Lady", HP Blavatsky. Although beloved for what she was, and what she wasn't, it was felt that her name had to go. Sucking Up to the Boss
Yes, everyone knows someone at their work who is the BFF of the boss, and everyone doesn't like the "suck up". It turns out that this activity seems to have the side effect of helping the person avoid psychological stress. It's really counterintuitive as I have always been taught that it's your level of skill that moves you forward.

Lethal Injections Should Not Be Banned (?) - A Kervorkian Moment
This is one of those hot-button issues where the first impression is to go "duh". According to this press release from the Hastings Center (via Eurekalert) the American Board of Anathesiology has acted against two physicians for participating in lethal injections.

Brain Scan Showing for the First Time the Effects of Anathesia on Brain Function
In this press release scientists have captured images of the brain going unconscious due to the effects of anesthesia. Unfortunately the movie will not be available for the rest of us until after the conference. Bummer.
