Michael A. Williams replied to J. E. Mead's discussion Quantum Realities, Science etc. in the group Science
"To begin with, John, Dr. Goswami's definitions were not something he "pulled out of thin air," but are long established in philosophy and philosophy of science. Although, the use of the term "material realism" and…"

Michael A. Williams replied to J. E. Mead's discussion Quantum Realities, Science etc. in the group Science
"As I somewhat suspected, an argument among materialist physicists. Let them "slug it out." If this PBR paper "proves" consciousness is involved in the wave state mathematically or not, I can't say. But, we don't need, I…"

Michael A. Williams replied to J. E. Mead's discussion Quantum Realities, Science etc. in the group Science
"Thanks, John, but these articles are too mathematically techinical for me and most other laypersons. What I had in mind was something putting this new paper on wavefunctions by the trio called PBR, for short, in a philosophical and cultural context…"

Michael A. Williams replied to J. E. Mead's discussion Quantum Realities, Science etc. in the group Science
"Interesting subject, John, to some people at least. Thanks for calling our attention to it. I'll keep an eye out for any articles by metaphysically oriented quantum physicists addressing the issue raised here."

"Thanks, Phillip, for the info. This topic doesn't seem to excite much interest here whenever it's brought up, but perhaps some visitors will find the sites you list of value. Now, here's a tidbit I just tracked down. I thought I…"

Yes, unfortunately, I have had the awful experience of having to listen to their jargon-studded mouthing of phrases. I think that it's a bit humorous in a way. I've had the same experience with die-hard fundamentalists of all types, including followers of HPB who wish to turn her into a porcelain saint. Although the die-hard followers of Alice Bailey tend to follow a close 2nd to Krishnamurti-ites.

Unfortunately these behaviors do a disservice to those in all movements who are thoughtful about their words and actions.

Greetings and welcome to the Theosophical Network!

I've always liked the comment that Krishnamurti made about followers and leaders. Something about both of them being confused. When looking at all kinds of organizations, spiritual and otherwise that always seems to be the case.
