This is the first of a two-part discussion.  Essentially these discussions are about the same thing.  Us and how we relate to our world, what is and isn't important. The second part (in another posting) relates to your activity here.

There are two themes in each of these sets of questions.  The first is one of "How do I portray myself" to the world and to me?  The second is ways that we feel we could do better.  These are both fairly high risk questions in that we are telling everyone else out there about our interior lives and we are dealing more with feelings than opinion.

This first discussion is about you.  How do you feel personally and what are your thoughts?

Given the above, here are a couple short questions:

1. What is my message? Otherwise, this is known as your 'brand'.  This is how you want people here to see you and what you want to convey to them.
2. What is it that you would like better for others to "get" about you?  Sometimes our message and our actions convey different things, and that's not necessarily bad.  As long as we have to communicate with others through our limited means this will always be an issue, no matter how hard we try.

Notice, this is on two levels, one for you personally, and the other discussion will be for your activity on this site.

I'll start this off.

My message is that I am a geek who is really interested and concerned about the future. I want to see a healthy, holistic direction in our advancement of technology, a recognition that spiritual points of view have value and meaning. I want to be remembered as making a contribution to that discussion.

What I would like for people to understand that perhaps that I am above all, an average person who wants to see good and interesting things happen. I am not anything special, and have no special access to knowledge or wisdom that anyone else doesn't.

Deep inside in all honesty, I am a confused person, who is always unsure of what to do next. So my "brand" is that of one who keeps asking questions till eternity, never grasping the answers fully.

 

Is that how I want to be remembered? I do not want to be remembered at all. I wish that could happen.

Amen to the above statements. The main thing I am interested in is making valuable information and insights, from whichever source,  available to the general public. Educate a little. Doing this in a group or network, in an organized way, is wonderful.
